iLinc Web Conferencing Software Benefits Visually Impaired Users

iLinc received independent certification of compliance for Section 508 and WAI Priority 1 and 2.

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Mar. 13, 2008) – iLinc Communications, Inc. (AMEX:ILC), a leading provider of Web conferencing software and audio conferencing services, announced today that it has received independent certification of compliance for Section 508 and WAI Priority 1 and 2.

The key benefits to maintaining Section 508 standards-compliant Web site include better accessibility for a wide range of disabled users. Much of Section 508 compliance focuses on making Web sites, intranets, and web-enabled applications accessible.

"This certification is especially important to our government and higher education clients, as they must make things accessible to their users and constituents with disabilities," said Frank X. Gartland, VP of Product and Technology. "This means that, for example, a screen reader program can read the interface of an iLinc Web conferencing session to someone who is visually impaired. Because of our strong roots in learning and training, we always consider 508 and WAI compliance with respect to new features we develop for iLinc."

Computer Intelligence Associates of Columbia, Maryland, an independent professional services firm with expertise in accessibility, WAI, and Section 508, conducted the rigorous accessibility compliance audit of iLinc's Web conferencing applications. The compliance testing addresses all user interface components in the iLinc Web conferencing suite of applications and resulted in a Certificate of Compliance.

"iLinc went the extra mile in achieving these results which will allow people with a broad range of disabilities to access iLinc's Web conferencing interface," said Clark French, President of Computer Intelligence Associates, Inc.
