The International Children's Digital Library is a powerful and well thought on line database providing easy and free access to children's books from around the world. Some books are public domain, others are used by author's permission. The International Children's Digital Library is the result of a University of Maryland research project funded primarily by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and Microsoft Research to create the world's most comprehensive multicultural digital library of outstanding children's books. Today, the Library is managed by the International Children's Digital Library Foundation, a non profit corporation. |

- It's mission to try to understand if digital technology can succeed in language education by using a large-scale, global, research 2. As a free resource that helps students, with their caregivers or educators, to use Internet content safely and easily

Learning about space and agriculture
Today's children may be whiz kids on computers but many know little about the origins of the food they eat and the clothes they wear. Now, thanks to the Tellus mission, children can use their computer skills to learn about agriculture. To help schoolteachers use the site a Tellus information pack is available.
